Nelson Cruz (elbow) out of Mariners' lineup on Sunday
Seattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz is not in Sunday's lineup against the Detroit Tigers due to a sore elbow.
Cruz was popped on the elbow by a pitch in Saturday's victory and also missed two games earlier this week due to a bruised foot, so the Mariners will let him get some rest in today's series finale before Monday's off day. He should be fine for Tuesday's opener against the Oakland Athletics. Kyle Seager will cover DH duties while Gordon Beckham starts at the hot corner on Sunday.
Cruz is averaging 9.6 FanDuel points per game this season. numberFire's models project him to hit .266 with 25 homers and 69 RBI over the rest of the year.
