Greg Bird (ankle) could return for Yankees this week
New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird (ankle) could potentially be activated from the disabled list this week, manager Aaron Boone said.
Bird has been sidelined since the start of the season after undergoing ankle surgery on March 27 but he will play in his first rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday after competing in eight rehab games between Advanced-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton over the past week-plus.
numberFire's models currently project Bird to bat .218 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI, and 31 runs scored this season.
