Red Sox to activate Dustin Pedroia (knee) for Friday's game
According to The Boston Globe's Pete Abraham, the Boston Red Sox will activate second baseman Dustin Pedroia ahead of Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves.
Pedroia hasn't played in the majors yet this season after undergoing offseason knee surgery. The 34-year-old most recently played seven innings at Triple-A Pawtucket. He went 1-for-11 with three walks and three strikeouts in his rehab stint. There hasn't been word on the corresponding move, but it doesn't appear to be Eduardo Nunez or Brock Holt. Nevertheless, both players will see far fewer starts when Pedroia's up to speed.
Our models project Pedroia to hit .272 with 8 home runs and 47 RBI over the rest of the season.
