Mike Foltynewicz (triceps) scheduled to come off Braves' DL on Sunday
Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Foltynewicz (triceps) is scheduled to come off the disabled list on Sunday.
Sean Newcomb and Julio Teheran will start the first two games of this weekend's series against the Baltimore Orioles with the hope that Foltynewicz will take the mound for Sunday's finale. If the 26-year-old starter makes it through a few more side sessions intact, that seems doable. Foltynewicz had a 2.16 ERA, 28.9 percent strikeout rate, and 10.2 percent walk rate through 79 innings pitched when he landed on the disabled list.
Our models project Foltynewicz to throw 97 more innings this year, earning a 3.81 ERA, 24.0 percent strikeout rate, 8.8 percent walk rate, and a 6-6 record.
