Mets' Yoenis Cespedes (hip, quad) to resume running soon
New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hip, quad) is hoping to progress to running drills in the next few days, manager Mickey Callaway said.
Cespedes should be able to return next month if he continues to progress through his rehab without issue. The 32-year-old was placed on the Mets' disabled list May 14 with a right hip injury. He then experienced tightness in his right quad earlier this month after embarking on a minor league rehab assignment.
Cespedes averaged 11.0 FanDuel points in 37 games prior to the injury while slashing .255/.316/.474 with 8 home runs and 28 RBIs across 152 plate appearances.
