Marcus Stroman scatters six hits in successful return from DL for Blue Jays
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman blanked the Los Angeles Angels for five innings Saturday in his return from the disabled list.
Stroman scattered six singles and walked just one, striking out five with seven additional groundouts. It was definitely an encouraging return after his six-week absence due to shoulder fatigue. Stroman gets the Detroit Tigers next on the schedule, an enticing opportunity for fantasy players.
Our models project Stroman to throw 71 more innings this year, with a 5.08 ERA, 17.1 percent strikeout rate, 8.6 percent walk rate, and a 4-5 record the rest of the way.
