Jays' Josh Donaldson (calf) suffers setback during rehab
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) suffered a setback during his rehab in Florida and will be shut down for three weeks.
Donaldson suffered the acute strain of his left calf as he was fielding grounders at the Jays' spring training facility and will not be out another three weeks before being re-evaluated. A harsh blow all around as the team was hoping to have Donaldson back in the lineup before the end of July to showcase him for trades. Yangervis Solarte will continue to start at the hot corner for Toronto.
Donaldson was batting .234 with 5 homers and 16 RBI in 159 plate appearances this season.
