Cubs unsure when Yu Darvish (triceps, elbow) will resume throwing
The Chicago Cubs are unsure when starting pitcher Yu Darvish (triceps, elbow) will resume throwing, manager Joe Maddon said on Wednesday.
Darvish hit the disabled list back on May 23 with tendinitis in his right triceps and was diagnosed with a right elbow impingement last week. On Friday, he got a cortisone shot that might get him over the hump in his rehab, but no one is quite sure yet. The only clarity Maddon offered: "We're trying to derive a plan to get him back out there as soon as possible."
Assuming health, our models project Darvish to throw 29 1/3 more innings this year, earning a 4.59 ERA with 25.0 percent strikeout a 9.4 percent walk rates.
