Gerrit Cole placed on Astros' bereavement list
Houston Astros starting pitcher Gerrit Cole has been placed on the bereavement list.
What It Means:
Cole punched out 11 batters over six scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics on Monday but he will now be away from the team for 3-7 days. Jake Marisnick was recalled from Triple-A Fresno in a corresponding roster move.
Cole owns a 9-2 record and is averaging 46.3 FanDuel points through 19 starts this season while recording a 2.57 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 169 strikeouts and 41 walks across 122 2/3 innings.
