Jeff Samardzija (shoulder) lands back on Giants' disabled list
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija has been placed back on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
Samardzija made only two middling starts since he landed on the DL at the end of May with the same injury. Derek Holland will fill the void in the Giants' rotation until Samardzija is ready. Kelby Tomlinson was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding roster move.
Samardzija has averaged 14.1 FanDuel points while going 1-5 through 10 starts this season. He owns a 6.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts and 26 walks across 44 2/3 innings.
