Cardinals' Kolten Wong (knee) placed on 10-day disabled list
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with left knee inflammation.
There hadn't been any previous mention of an injury, so this comes as a surprise. Greg Garcia will fill in for Wong at second base on Monday versus the Cincinnati Reds. The Cardinals called up right-handed pitcher Daniel Poncedelon from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding roster move, and he will make his major league debut on Monday night.
Wong is averaging 6.6 FanDuel points through 91 games this season, while slashing .216/.305/.359 with 7 home runs, 24 RBI, 3 steals, and 29 runs scored across 284 plate appearances.
