Yankees' Gary Sanchez (groin) likely out at least a month
New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez (groin) likely won't be ready to return until late August or early September, general manager Brian Cashman said.
Sanchez was placed on the disabled list Tuesday after aggravating a right groin strain that sidelined him for the final three weeks of the first half. The Yankees may opt to bring in outside help, but look for Austin Romine to fill in as the Yankees' primary catcher while Sanchez is unavailable, with Kyle Higashioka playing backup.
Sanchez was averaging 10.2 FanDuel points in 66 games for the Yankees this season, while slashing a poor .188/.283/.416 with 14 home runs, 42 RBI, and 37 runs scored across 279 plate appearances.
