Chris Archer to debut for Pirates on Friday
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Chris Archer will make his club debut on Friday night in a home start against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Pirates plan on moving the rest of their rotation back a day. Archer was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in a deadline deal Tuesday in exchange for outfielder Austin Meadows, right-hander Tyler Glasnow, and a player to be named later. The 29-year-old right-hander is under club control through 2021.
Archer averaged 29.8 FanDuel points and put together a 3-5 record in 17 starts for the Rays this season, while posting a 4.31 ERA with 102 strikeouts and 31 walks across 96 innings.
