Kenley Jansen (irregular heartbeat) placed on 10-day disabled list
Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen has officially been placed on the 10-day disabled list due to an irregular heartbeat.
Jansen was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon. The National League leader in saves is expected to be out for a month, according to ESPN's Buster Olney. Pitcher Pat Venditte has been called up from AAA Oklahoma City to take his roster spot.
Jansen had just one blown save in his last 44 appearances out of the Dodgers' pen. Though still an elite closer, Jansen's K/9 rate dropped dramatically from 14.36 in 2017 to 10.10 this year.
