Luke Weaver (finger) scratched; Tyson Ross to start for St. Louis on Sunday
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Luke Weaver has been scratched from Sunday's scheduled start against the Kansas City Royals due to a cut on his right index finger.
Weaver cut his finger opening a can of food on Saturday. The cut appears to be minor with Weaver saying he could start on Sunday if needed. The Cards will play it safe with Tyson Ross taking the mound in the series finale with KC.
Weaver has posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 111/43 strikeout to walk rate over 121 2/3 innings pitched this season.
