Cubs' Yu Darvish done for the year with stress reaction in elbow
Chicago Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish is done for the rest of the season after suffering a stress reaction in his elbow during a rehab assignment, according to Carrie Muskat of MLB.com.
Darvish has been out since late May as he recovered from elbow tendinitis. He felt pain in his elbow after one inning in his latest rehab attempt and has been diagnosed with the stress reaction on the tip of his elbow along with a triceps strain. Darvish should be fully recovered by spring training in 2019.
Darvish struggled in his first season with the Cubs, posting a 4.95 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 27.2 strikeout percentage in 40.0 innings pitched this season.
