Picking Up the Slack in Phoenix

While the recent flurry of injuries suffered by some of the game’s most entertaining players is annoying and unfortunate, them being sidelined also opens up opportunities for others, in turn opening up some potentially favorable chances for fantasy basketball.

In the case of Devin Booker, who is expected to miss at least two weeks, the Phoenix Suns will likely call on guys like Mike James and Tyler Ulis.

We’ve seen enough of both guys to get a gauge of what they’re capable of, but the impending increase in minutes will require a watchful eye on their respective salaries.

While the early edge would seem to lean toward James due to his comparative rebounding and nearly double the number of three-point attempts per 100 possessions, Ulis has shown his ability to produce when provided an extra helping of minutes.

Over his last 11 games, he's averaging more than 20 FanDuel points per night. But in the five contests of which he’s seen at least 28 minutes, Ulis averaged nearly 28 FanDuel points, hitting at least six-times value in four of them.

The Suns host the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night, followed by a road game in Sacramento on Tuesday and a home game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
