Jake Layman, SF/PF, Portland Trail Blazers

DraftKings Price: $4,100

There are a couple of things that are very confounding about Jake Layman. Despite starting for the Portland Trail Blazers' first 19 games to start the season, Layman only saw 20-plus minutes of run four times in those games. He then spent much of December in head coach Terry Stotts' doghouse, racking up DNP-CDs like Russell Westbrook accumulates triple-doubles.

Over the past couple of weeks, however, it seems Stotts has finally seen the value in the Blazers' third-year man. Layman has played at least 25 minutes in seven straight games, and it's pretty easy to see why, as he's been one of the Blazers' most efficient offensive weapons. He shot 54.2% from the field in January, a clip that is up to 61.0% (and 40.0% from deep) through four games this month.

Other than the ups and downs in playing time, the other confounding thing about Layman is his DraftKings price. The dude has topped 30.0 DraftKings points in three of his past seven games, topping 40.0 twice and falling below 20.0 just twice. Can he still put up a dud? Of course. But he's one of few players who, without exaggerating, could put up a value of 10.0 points per $1,000. If you want a somewhat risky play who could turn the tides for you in tournaments tonight, give Jake a look.
