When Joel Embiid is away, Ben Simmons comes out to play. The sophomore stud is, of course, having a stellar season regardless of Embiid's status, but Simmons' numbers become even better when Embiid is off the court, which will happen again tonight.

Simmons' usage rate, not surprisingly, climbs when Embiid doesn't play, from 21.8% to 23.4%. His scoring (16.5 to 19.0) and rebounding (8.8 to 10.4) also increase. Those jumps have helped his fantasy output rise from 42.7 DraftKings points with Embiid to 48.2 without, an increase of roughly 12.9%.

His price rose a modest $400 in anticipation of this, but at only $8,500, Simmons is still a bargain compared to his upside. His opponent tonight couldn't be much better. He's scored at least 53.75 DraftKings points in four of his past five contests against the Charlotte Hornets. We currently have Simmons projected for a conservative 43.4 DraftKings points with upside for 68.5.
