3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 11/8/17

Victor Oladipo is finishing off a back-to-back on the road tonight against Detroit. Who else has a tough matchup worth fading on Wednesday's NBA DFS slate?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to -- or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Victor Oladipo, SG, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $7,300

After a red-hot start, Victor Oladipo has come back down to reality a bit over his last two games, shooting 13-for-38 from the floor and 2-for-10 from distance. On the heels of their home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the Indiana Pacers have yet another tough assignment on the road Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.

Oladipo will be facing one of the league's best defenders in Avery Bradley, who has helped the Pistons hold opposing shooting guards to 0.71 FanDuel points per minute. Oladipo's history against Bradley makes him an even bigger landmine -- in 12 career head-to-head matchups, he's shot just 32.5% from the floor.

While the Pacers' guard does have one huge game against Bradley as a member of the Magic, he's worth avoiding because of the matchup and the fact that he's on the second half of a back-to-back.

Jeff Teague, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves

FanDuel Price: $6,900

I've mentioned before that the Golden State Warriors have been strong against opposing point guards this year, and that should hold true against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are coming to town on Wednesday.

Jeff Teague has not had much success against Stephen Curry, and which is also likely to continue. Teague has faced off against Curry 14 times and owns a 36.8% shooting clip in those games, scoring more than 20 points just once.

It's more the Warriors' team defense that holds down opposing point guards, as they are allowing just 0.81 FanDuel points per minute to the position. Teague is just 21-for-52 in his last four games, so on top of the tough matchup on the road, he has gone cold in November.

Lonzo Ball, PG, Los Angeles Lakers

FanDuel Price: $6,700

Speaking of tough matchups for point guards, Lonzo Ball has one of those on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics. This game has the second-lowest total on a short slate because of defense from both teams and Boston's slow pace.

The Celtics' defensive rating is an impressive 98.2 points allowed per 100 possessions to start the year, and they are playing at a pace of 96.2 possessions per game, which ranks 27th in the league, so it shouldn't be surprising that the Lakers currently have the lowest implied team total of the night.

Boston is going to try and slow this game down as much as possible, and that will play directly in to slowing down Ball. The Celtics are holding opposing point guards to just 0.77 FanDuel points per minute, while teams have just a 47.8 effective field goal percentage against them this season.
