3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 2/14/18

Although Jerian Grant has been playing well recently, his current situation is about to change. Which other NBA players are worth avoiding on Wednesday's DFS slate?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Jerian Grant, PG, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $6,600

Jerian Grant has played really well for the Chicago Bulls in the 11 games that Kris Dunn has sat out due to a concussion. However, with Dunn probable to make his return, Grant will likely see fewer minutes Wednesday.

Even if Dunn doesn't play get his usual workload right before the All-Star break, Grant's price tag alone is enough to fade him in this situation. Our models project Grant for only 16.7 FanDuel points in just over 20 minutes, which is nowhere near enough to warrant fantasy consideration.

Joe Harris, SF, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Price: $4,500

Joe Harris and the Brooklyn Nets are set to meet the Indiana Pacers for the fourth and final time tonight. While Harris has been playing bigger minutes recently, he is up against a unique challenge in Indiana's defense on the wing.

The Pacers are holding small forwards to just 0.76 FanDuel points per minute, which is the third-best mark in our DvP Matchup Chart. It's also worth nothing that in his two games against Indiana this season, Harris is averaging just 15.9 FanDuel points per game.

Dillon Brooks, SF, Memphis Grizzlies

FanDuel Price: $4,100

Dillon Brooks' last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday was a big landmine, as he fouled out after just 24 minutes in the loss. The Memphis Grizzlies will now welcome the Thunder to FedEx Forum tonight, but the result for Brooks might be more of the same against Paul George.

George and the Thunder are holding small forwards to only 0.77 FanDuel points per minute. Not only that, but as we've seen from their first two meetings, Brooks' responsibility of guarding George is not easy. With foul trouble a factor, it's best to avoid him in such a tough individual matchup on this monster slate.
