3 NBA Prop Bets to Target on 4/3/18

Absent running mate Joel Embiid, can Ben Simmons continue his hot scoring streak in a home meeting with the Nets?

Prop betting odds can be useful in daily fantasy sports to help gauge the potential performance of a player on any given night in the NBA. Likewise, the same principles can be applied in the opposite direction -- by using our fantasy projections and models to help make more informed prop bets.

Using the odds available at BetOnline Sportsbook, here are three prop bets available for Wednesday night that are good plays based on our nightly NBA game projections.

Please note that Vegas lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers

Ben Simmons OVER 16.5 Points -113

Without Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons has been forced to put the Philadelphia 76ers on his back offensively.

On Sunday, the star rookie scored 20 points on 17 shot attempts in a win over the Charlotte Hornets. Simmons' 17 shot attempts were his most since March 16th and, without Embiid on the court, Simmons owns a 25.7% usage rate this season, according to NBA Wowy. For Tuesday, our models think Simmons will continue to see a boost in scoring, projecting him for 18.2 points.

D'Angelo Russell OVER 15.5 Points -113

Our models think that the matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Sixers could be a valuable game for prop betting, because D'Angelo Russell also has favorable projections on Tuesday.

Although Russell has been frustratingly inconsistent since his return from injury in late January, he is very capable of putting up big scoring nights -- and the Sixers are well aware of this. In three games against the Sixers this season, Russell has scored 22, 26, and 8 points. Our models are leaning closer to the first two games for Tuesday, projecting Russell for 17.8 points.

Toronto Raptors at Cleveland Cavaliers

DeMar DeRozan OVER 21.5 Points -113

DeMar DeRozan is fresh off dropping 32 points in a loss to the Boston Celtics over the weekend. But, for the Toronto Raptors, their team's only concern is their magic number of three (according to Playoff Status).

In a potential Eastern Conference Finals preview -- so long as the Cleveland Cavaliers can hold onto the third seed -- our models like DeRozan for 23.7 points in tonight's game.
