NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 5/24/18

Draymond Green is leading all players in the Rockets-Warriors series in minutes played. Who else should you target on today's one-game DFS slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge in our new Single Game Boost format for the Conference Finals.

For these contests, you'll fill out a five-man roster with a $60,000 salary cap. Those five players include an MVP, a Star, a Pro, and two utility players. The MVP will have his FanDuel points doubled. The Star will have his fantasy points multiplied by 1.5. The Pro gets a multiplier of 1.2. The two utility players will return the standard FanDuel points.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's one-game slate.

James Harden (FanDuel Price: $17,000)

With his minutes jumping to 43.4 on Tuesday in what was only the second close game of the series, Harden notched 53.8 FanDuel points. He stands to see a big workload again tonight in what oddsmakers have as a close game, with Houston favored by 1.0.

His 48.3 FanDuel points per game in this round are the most in the series by a gap of slightly more than 6 points, and his edge in fantasy production over the other players in action tonight expands to just about any other time frame you want to look at, as well. His 50.6 FanDuel points per game in the postseason are 5.0 more than anyone else in this series has averaged, and his average of 53.0 fantasy points in the regular season gives him an edge of 6.0. He is also the most efficient fantasy producer in this group, having ranked second in the NBA in FanDuel points per minute in the regular season.

Bringing that production into what should be a close matchup, Harden is likely a bit under-priced tonight, and he makes for a strong pick in your MVP spot.
