NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 10/24/18

Kris Dunn's absence makes Cameron Payne an elite value option at near-minimum salary. Who else should be in your DFS lineups?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

LeBron James ($11,500): LeBron stands out as pretty easily the top play on the slate. Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo are still serving their suspensions, and James has curiously seen his salary fall by $300, even though he went off for a season-high 63.6 FanDuel points in his last game absent Ingram and Rondo. The King played 43 minutes in that one, while his usage rate jumped to a season-high 32.3%. He attempted 25 field goals and dropped 14 assists (both season-highs), and we can expect another massive workload for him tonight. With the Los Angeles Lakers boasting the day's highest implied total (119.5) in a game with only a three-point spread against Phoenix, so it's no surprise that our models project him for the top fantasy score on the slate.
