NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Sunday 4/28/19

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate, which starts at 1:00 p.m. EST and features two games.

Best of the Best

Kevin Durant ($11,400): While James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo are also pretty appealing, Durant might be the workhorse for the Golden State Warriors due to the ankle injuries to both Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. KD went absolutely bananas in Game 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers, scoring 50 real-world points on his way to 66.7 FanDuel points. In the final two games of the series versus the Clips, Durant played 41 and 42 minutes and scored 45 and 50 points. He shot 29-of-52 from the floor in those two outings and was virtually unstoppable. He'll have every chance to keep rolling today against the Houston Rockets.

Mid-Range Option

Al Horford ($6,800): Horford scored at least 30.7 FanDuel points in each of the four games against the Indiana Pacers last round and has been resting since April 21st. He also racked up eight or more rebounds in all four games and had a double-double in two of them. In the two games he played against the Milwaukee Bucks this season, Horford score 36.0 and 63.9 FanDuel points. He's one of the best mid-range plays on this slate.

Basement Baller

Eric Gordon ($5,000): It's enticing to use Gordon at shooting guard, and he may not see a lot of ownership if Thompson suits up for the Dubs. Gordon played 38, 38, and 39 minutes in the final three games of the series with the Utah Jazz. In those three games, he scored 20.5, 19.7, and 29.1 FanDuel points. He didn't really show off the kind of ceiling that could win you a tournament, but he also didn't post any lineup-ruining stinkers. Gordon should be chucking up three-pointers for close to 40 minutes in what should be a high-scoring affair, so we have to take a long look at him. If he can get hot, Gordon has upside more upside than he's shown lately, and he should have plenty of opportunity today.
