Pelicans reportedly acquire Wesley Johnson from Clippers for Alexis Ajinca (knee)
The New Orleans Pelicans have acquired guard/forward Wesley Johnson from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for forward/center Alexis Ajinca, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Johnson could potentially start at the three for the Pelicans, who were relatively shorthanded on swingmen. Ajinca, who still hasn't been cleared to play after undergoing knee surgery in March, is expected to be waived.
numberFire's models currently project Johnson to average 5.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 0.7 3-pointers in 19.1 minutes per game for the Pelicans this season.
