Spurs' Derrick White (heel) will make his first start of the year on Wednesday
San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White (heel) will start on Wednesday versus the Miami Heat.
What It Means:
White will be playing his first game of the 2018-19 season as he suffered a plantar fasciitis/heel injury in preseason. Wednesday will be the first career start for White, a second-year guard out of Colorado. He is expected to be at the point with Bryn Forbes moving to shooting guard and Demar DeRozan moving to small forward in place of Davis Bertans. No word if there will be a minutes limit for White against the Heat.
White averaged just 8.3 minutes in 17 games his last season with the Spurs. He costs just $3,700 on Wednesday.
