Wesley Johnson joins Wizards in deadline deal with New Orleans
The Washington Wizards acquired guard/forward Wesley Johnson from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for forward/center Markieff Morris and a 2023 second-round pick.
“This trade gives us a veteran wing player and former first-round pick in Wesley who will add experience and shooting to our bench,” said Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld. Johnson, 31, didn't do much for the Pelicans and projects to see a similar role in Washington.
Johnson averaged 8.8 FanDuel points over 14.5 minutes in 26 games (13 starts) for the Pelicans this season.
