Report: Pelicans to ask league about resting Anthony Davis
New Orleans Pelicans acting general manager Danny Ferry is expected to attempt to convince the NBA to re-think their position of forcing the Pelicans to play forward/center Anthony Davis, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Pelicans head Alvin Gentry recently described the situation as a "dumpster fire" and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called it a "very unhealthy situation" for both sides, so some sort of resolution seems realistic. New Orleans plays in Indiana against the Pacers on Friday.
Davis is averaging 59.1 FanDuel points through 45 games. numberFire's models expect him to record 28.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 2.0 blocks, and 0.6 triples per contest over the remainder of the season.
