Karl-Anthony Towns scores 40 with 16 rebounds, leaves Timberwolves' victory early
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns scored 40 points (15-of-25 field goals, 6-of-6 free throws) with 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 4 3-pointers, and 1 turnover in 37.4 minutes of a 135-130 overtime victory to the Washington Wizards on Saturday.
Towns injured his knee in the final 10 seconds of regulation and sat out the overtime period. Encouragingly, he was walking around after the game, but head coach Ryan Saunders said Towns would undergo further testing to evaluate the injury. It sounds like there's a decent chance the 23-year-old big man misses the second game of his career on Sunday versus the New York Knicks. Taj Gibson and Gorgui Dieng stand to benefit the most if Towns misses time.
KAT scored 70.2 FanDuel points in the loss. He's averaging 49.0 FanDuel points in 64 games this season.
