Knicks' Joakim Noah (shoulder) undergoes successful surgery

New York Knicks center Joakim Noah underwent surgery on the rotator cuff in his right shoulder on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Recovery time for the surgery is expected to be about five months, meaning Noah should be able to get some work in during training camp this summer. He still has a 12-game suspension left to serve, so even if he's healthy, the big man will have a delayed start to the 2017-2017 season. Noah turned 32 in February.

Noah struggled this year, averaging 5.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 22.2 assists per game while shooting a .495 effective field goal percentage. His -0.1 nERD ranked 180th in the NBA.
