76ers pick up Robert Covington's option
The Philadelphia 76ers have picked up their team option on Robert Covington for the 2017-18 season.
It was a no-brainer move for the 76ers, who are on the hook for just $1.57 million for Covington next season. The team will likely use this opportunity to work out an extension for the Tennessee State product.
Covington averaged 12.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.0 blocks over 31.6 minutes per game this season. He owned a career-worst .492 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of -2.7 ranked him 407th this season.
