Mavericks yet to decide on Dirk Nowitzki's team option
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki says that no decision has been made on his $25 million team option for the 2017-18 season, per ESPN's Tim MacMahon.
Nowitzki is guaranteed $5 million either way and could re-sign with the team at a lower cost if Dallas decides not to pick up the option. If the Mavericks pick up the option, Nowitzki would be the team's highest-paid player going into next season.
At 39 years old, the future Hall of Famer might finally be on the decline. Nowitzki's -0.9 nERD ranked him 12th on the team for the 2016-17 season.
