Clippers looking to re-sign Blake Griffin

The Los Angeles Clippers believe that moving Chris Paul has cleared the way for them to re-sign unrestricted free agent Blake Griffin, according to the LA Times' Brad Turner.

What It Means:

Many think that Chris Paul's departure will push Griffin out the door as well. Among many others, the Oklahoma City Thunder are rumored to have big interest in the veteran power forward. But the Clippers will now have more cap space with which to offer Griffin a max deal to stay and remain the team's franchise player.

Griffin's 7.3 nERD ranked third behind only Paul (12.8) and DeAndre Jordan (13.2) this season. He averaged 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists across 34.0 minutes a game.
