Lakers to meet with free agent George Hill on Monday

The Los Angeles Lakers will meet with free agent point guard George Hill on Monday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

What It Means:

It's a strange move for a franchise that just took Lonzo Ball with the second pick in the draft. It's hard to imagine the Lakers would sign a player of Hill's caliber without starting him, so his arrival could present complications for the starting lineup. It's worth noting that they will be discussing just a one-year deal with Hill's reps; the Lakers are attempting to preserve cap space for the summer of 2018 when both LeBron James and Paul George.

Hill's 5.9 nERD ranked 15th among the 245 qualifying guards in 2016-17.
