Marshall Plumlee

Knicks waiving Marshall Plumlee

The New York Knicks are waiving center Marshall Plumlee, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

What It Means:

It's a minor move, but the main piece of this comes in the form of cap space. With the seven-foot Plumlee off the books, the Knicks shed the $1.3 million he was set to make in 2017-18. This will help them to bring on restricted free agent Tim Hardaway Jr., to whom they offered a four-year, $71 million deal on Thursday.

In one NBA season, Plumlee appeared in just 21 games, with averages of 1.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per. Surprisingly, his -0.4 nERD positioned him sixth on the Knicks this past season.
