Kristaps Porzingis plans to guard Carmelo Anthony in Knicks' season opener
New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis says he plans on defending his former teammate, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony in their opening night matchup.
“It’s going to be interesting. He’s been in the league for 13, 14 years. I think everybody knows what he’s doing, but nobody can stop him. It’s going to be a challenge for me. I’m going to do my best." Porzingis enters his third NBA season as the unquestioned go-to option in the Knicks' offense. He averaged a career-best 18.1 points per game in 2016-17 behind Anthony, so 20-plus points per game is not out of the question for Porzingis this year.
Our models project Porzingis for 34.1 FanDuel points on Thursday against the Thunder.
