Nikola Jokic (ankle) 'getting closer' to return for Nuggets, Wednesday not ruled out
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (ankle) is "getting closer" to a return, head coach Mike Malone said.
Jokic is still bothered by swelling in his ankle, and while he's already been ruled out for tonight's matchup with the Detroit Pistons, Malone wouldn't rule out the possibility of the big man returning on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics for the second half of the Nuggets' back-to-back set. Jokic hasn't played since November 30.
Jokic averaged 38.7 FanDuel points per game prior to injury. Upon return, numberFire's models project him to record 22.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.9 steals, 1.0 blocks, and 2.7 turnovers per game.
