Nets' Jeremy Lin has exercised his $12.5M player option for next season
Brooklyn Nets guard Jeremy Lin has exercised his $12.5M player option for the 2018-19 season, per Zach Lowe of ESPN.
The move was expected all along by Lin, who is out for the season after rupturing his patellar tendon. The veteran guard will be back in a crowded Nets' backcourt along with Spencer Dinwiddie and D'Angelo Russell but could still play a significant role as the starting point guard next year or first reserve.
Lin has averaged 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 24.5 minutes over 37 games as a Net.
