Heat will not pick up Jordan Mickey's team option for 2018
Per Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania, the Miami Heat will not pick up their $1.6 million team option on forward/center Jordan Mickey.
Following this season, Mickey will become a free agent at the age of 23. He's been a disappointment through three seasons as he's played in no more than 25 games. He should receive a training camp invite elsewhere, while the Heat gain additional cap space heading into the summer.
According to Spotrac, the Heat are in line to be over the salary cap by roughly $20 million.
