Gentry: 'We want' DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) back on team in 2018
In discussing free-agent-to-be DeMarcus Cousins, New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said, "We want DeMarcus back on our team. Everybody has said that."
Cousins has spent a little more than a year with New Orleans, but he's due to be a free agent and could command a pretty penny, despite a season-ending Achilles injury. It's possible that Boogie takes a bit of a discount given the injury, and especially if he likes what he saw while healthy this season. He'll be looking for a two- to three-year deal wherever he ends up signing.
In 48 games, Cousins ended the 2017-18 season with 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.
