Wizards' Marcin Gortat heading to Los Angeles in exchange for Austin Rivers
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting the Washington Wizards have agreed in principle to trade center Marcin Gortat to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for guard Austin Rivers.
What It Means:
Both Gortat and Rivers are on expiring contracts and get a chance to try and revitalize their career after a down season. Gortat could be in contention to start with the Clippers if DeAndre Jordan does not return. The big man's departure opens up more room to play small ball with Markieff Morris playing in the middle and Otto Porter moving to the four.
Gortat averaged just 8.4 points to go along with 7.6 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 25.3 minutes per game in 2017-18.
