Kentavious Caldwell-Pope re-signs with Lakers on one-year deal
Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a one-year, $12 million deal with the Lakers, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes..
KCP had a nice year in LA, and he is re-upping on another one-year deal to come back and play with LeBron James. The Lakers are running out of big name free agents to pair with James this season, but KCP will be a nice complementary piece as a shooter and a swingman next to James. It's likely the Lakers will round out their roster on short term deals like this one unless they can still swing a Kawhi Leonard trade this summer.
In his first season with LA, Caldwell-Pope averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.4 steals over 33.2 minutes per game. He owned a career-best .526 effective field goal percentage, and his nERD of 0.7 ranked him 138th among all players.
