Aaron Gordon agrees to four-year, $84 million deal to stay with Magic
The Orlando Magic and restricted free agent forward Aaron Gordon have agreed on a four-year, $84 million deal.
Gordon was a restricted free agent, so the Magic could have matched anything he signed on the open market. However, it looks like they decided to cut out the middle team and go ahead with a four-year extension. Gordon has shown flashes of potential to be an elite player in the NBA, and the 22 year-old's talent and athleticism is something Orlando could not let walk out the door after his rookie contract expired.
Gordon put up 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game last year, with an effective field goal rate of .500. His -2.3 nERD ranked 208th among the 250 qualifying forwards in the 2017-18 NBA season.
