Dwight Howard to sign with Wizards after finalizing buyout with Nets
Brooklyn Nets center Dwight Howard has finalized a buyout with Brooklyn and intends to sign a year deal with the Washington Wizards, per Jared Weiss of The Athletic.
Howard was traded to Brooklyn earlier this offseason with a buyout planned the whole time. He will join a Wizards squad with a hole at center after they dealt Marcin Gortat ot the Los Angeles Clippers and will assume the starting role. The one-year deal will be for the mid-level exception, roughly $5.3M.
Howard averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game with the Charlotte Hornets in 2017-18.
