Dirk Nowitzki reportedly finalizing 1-year pact with Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks and forward/center Dirk Nowitzki intend to complete a 1-year, $5 million contract, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
Nowitzki made it known he would return for the Mavericks next season, so this was more a financial formality than anything else. The 40-year-old veteran managed to play in 77 games last season before having to undergo ankle surgery in April.
At 39 years old in 2017-18, Dirk averaged 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds. His 8.3 rebounds per 36 minutes was his second-highest rate in his past 10 seasons.
