Carmelo Anthony finalizes buyout with Hawks
Atlanta Hawks and former Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony has finalized his buyout with the Hawks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Anthony has agreed to give back $2.4M of his $27.9M salary to be released by Atlanta. After he clears waivers in 48 hours, Anthony is expected to sign with the Houston Rockets for the veteran's minimum, not coincidently $2.4M.
Anthony averaged a career-worst 16.2 points per game in 2017-18 while shooting 40.4% from the field with the Thunder.
