North Carolina State Wolfpack freshman guard Dennis Smith Jr. scored a career-high 32 points with 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals in 33 minutes on Monday as the Wolfpack upset the Duke Blue Devils 84-82.
What It Means:
Smith eclipsed his previous high of 31 points even though he struggled from the line -- he was 8-for-15. The freshman nailed four three-pointers as he surpassed 30 points for the third time this season and second time in the last eight days.
Smith looks like a complete player as he is averaging 19.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.8 three-pointers per game in his likely lone college season.
