Virginia Tech will be without Chris Clarke for the rest of the season

Virginia Tech Hokies sophomore guard/forward Chris Clarke has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.

What It Means:

Clarke suffered the left knee injury in the second half of Sunday's double-overtime win over the Virginia Cavaliers. The sophomore was the team's leading rebounder as he was averaging 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season. Zach LeDay and Ty Outlaw will see extra minutes with Clarke sidelined.

The Hokies are shaping up as a real bubble team with a 17-7 record and a projected 58.0 percent probability of making the field of 68. Clarke's absence could push Virginia Tech to the outside looking in come Selection Sunday.
