Miami suspends Ja’Quan Newton three games for violating team rules
The Miami Hurricanes have announced that junior guard Ja'Quan Newton has been suspended three games due to a violation of team rules.
What It Means:
Newton will next be eligible to play on February 25 versus the Duke Blue Devils. His absence will be felt in the Hurricanes backcourt as Newton is averaging 32.3 minutes per game, and ranks second on the team with 15.0 points and first with 3.6 assists.
Freshman Dejan Vasiljevic played 28 minutes in Wednesday's win -- with 13 points and 3 three-pointers -- and will continue to start in the next two games for Miami.
